The Honest Review

If you’re here, you’re looking to purchase a Tineco of some form. This review is my about my experience with the Tineco iFloor5 Breeze T that I purchased a couple months ago. I am using this as an affiliate product, but I will say that even without the linking opportunity, I’m glad if I can help someone else find what they’re looking for.

I recently had our first baby, went back to work, and eventually broke down and hired a cleaner to come in and take care of the things I HATED doing in my precious free time… namely, floors and scrubbing showers. I had tossed around the idea of a Tineco for a while, but I’m just too cheap and couldn’t commit.

Cue me realizing I was spending over $400 a month for someone else to clean my house. No judgement to anyone who has someone clean their home, I really am just too cheap.

So I went back to looking at the Tineco and I finally pulled the trigger.

I love this thing.

It’s fast.

It’s cordless.

The solution smells great.

And the more I use it, the more I love.

Here’s what I didn’t find in any reviews that I’m glad to know now.

Settings:

There are two settings-

1: Low speed- which is for general cleaning.

2: High speed- which is for heavy messes.

It’s easy to change between the two settings, just a button on the handle. You can easily tell the difference by the volume level.

The high speed setting (unsurprisingly) uses more of the cleaning solution, uses up the battery, and fills the dirty tank, faster than low speed. You use this if there’s a puddle you need cleaned, like all those videos where they run the machine through several types of spills, like milk and spaghetti sauce (or dog piddle puddles, which it also scoops up seamlessly).

On the low speed the battery lasts long enough to clean all of the hard floors in my house; 3 small bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, entryway, plus some extra life remaining.

Even though it’s “low speed,” I still find that the clean is excellent. I ran a wet paper towel over areas cleaned by each setting and both left nothing on the towel.

Noise Level:

This is quieter than a regular vacuum cleaner when in low speed setting, and I actually think it’s still a bit quieter than a regular vacuum when in the higher setting.

Cleaning:

So I clean my machine completely after each use since I usually whip through the whole house each time I use it. You don’t have to do this. The machine actually has a self-cleaning setting that I never use. Call me crazy, I don’t mind.

The dirty water tank gets dumped into the toilet, then I rinse out the extra nasty stuff and dump that into toilet too. Next comes the handy little brush it comes with to clean the tank and the housing for the filter. I then remove the roller brush and rinse it (it’s actually usually pretty clean but I wash it anyway). Then I use the brush to clean the piping going down to the roller brush from the dirty tank, and wipe the housing for the roller brush. Then sit everything to dry, and you’re good. Haha, that did not make it sound simple. It takes me about 3 minutes to get it rinsed and set to dry. It breaks down and puts back together easily.

Weight of the Machine:

This machine is pretty stout, it’s not as light as a regular vacuum of the same size, mainly due to the water tanks.

BUT-

This thing has a forward drive. Like a push lawnmower that self-propels. Yes! You read that right! So even as someone who doesn’t have any arm strength, I still can whip through the house pretty easily.

Pet Hair:

Now here’s my favorite part that I wasn’t sure about when I first purchased. I expected to need to vacuum first to get up larger amounts of dog hair.

Not the case.

This thing vacuums the hair, then mops behind it, like magic.

In my house (with three dogs and a baby), this is honestly my favorite cleaning product.

The Plug:

So after researching multiple models of Tineco, plus comparing prices and what features were most important to me, I landed on the Tineco iFloor5 Breeze.
